Reports from Ames Iowa claim this cat has lost use of its legs!
by G. Steadman, Chronicle Writer
Ames, IA. - Early reports are suggesting that Ace Steadman, the loved family pet of Gary and Dawnie Steadman may have lost all use of his legs.
The black cat with a white tip on his tail has been seen in numerous locations around the Steadman's home, but always in some sort of prone position. It is not currently known just how he manages to get from one location to another.
On all accounts Ace appears to be a perfectly healthy and happy cat. He appears to be able to keep his weight at normal levels even though food and water are kept in a remote part of the home. Yet, whenever spotted he seems always to be in some variation of a reclined position.
Last known reports of Ace having actually used his legs for mobility purposes are hard to confirm. Although he is frequently spotted pawing at string, wrestling with golf balls or taking a swipe at Snowball, the second cat and family pet of the house. |

Snowball rumored to be helping Ace
by G. Steadman, Chronicle Writer
Ames, IA. - Unconfirmed reports suggest that a second cat in the home, a.k.a. "Snowball" is aiding Ace in his time of need.
One theory implies that Snowball, also a black cat but of the short hair variety, may be bringing food and water to Ace wherever he lay. Or that she is in fact dragging Ace from spot to spot. The later theory is supported by the extraordinary amount of growling and hissing heard when these two are together yet out of site. Could that be her efforts in moving him? |

Ace, "I'm happy not walking"
by G. Steadman, Chronicle Writer
Ames IA. - When asked why he is no longer seen walking or standing on his legs Ace replies, "I'm happy not walking. Why should I walk when all I have to do is lay back and look cute? Before I know it you are bringing me toys to play with, petting me and loving me. It's all I need!".
Asked how he manages to get to his food and water his only response is, "No comment, it's between Snowball and I. And don't ask her either!".
It seems this feline mystery will go unsolved, at least for the time being. |
